From my dealings in business I believe the serious question that : Is it possible for a free market economy to support a democratic socialist welfare society? , The model of a national welfare system with comprehensive entitlements, which is paid for by the wealth created through capitalist endeavour, and hard working middle class taxes has been accepted but the consequences have been ignored.
This is what liberal democracy wants; a system of wealth redistribution very much like Europe has.
But the US has a very different historical experience from Europe. America has a far stronger and more resilient belief in the moral value of liberty and the dangers of state power and giving out money to people for not working. Many Americans , I believe, see the abuse of the welfare system. This is a political as much as an economic crisis The US economy, under the Presidency of Obama led to the loss of its AAA rating from Standard & Poor’s,mostly upon this issue.→He refused to cut down or reform the welfare system. Instead Obama wanted MORE money!

The Tea Party knew that the entitlement welfare culture and benefits programmes which the Democrats were determined to preserve and extend with tax rises could only lead to the diminution of that robust economic freedom that had created the American historical miracle. Welfare reform is vital if America is to ever regain its world standing.  Face it if you are given money for extended periods of time why bother look for any jobs?  Actually, many attainable jobs for welfare recipients do NOT pay as high as their welfare cheque!

Most people on welfare still have a job, it is just that unskilled labor does not pay very well for many people.

If the free market economy is so great, then people would not need assistance in the first place.

Not if the incentive to succeed is taken away to pay for those that can't succeed.

We need a free workforce, our White Solutrean founding fathers understood this necessity and that is why they continued to bless Africans by bringing them out of the jungles of Africa and proceeded to give them the cushy life on the plantation where the kind White Solutrean master took care of their every need (almost like a butler).  Today it is considered "politically incorrect" to state this reality, that is because the Marxists control our country (and these Marxists serve the Islamists and the Caliphate run by Saudi oil money) and want to enslave the White Solutrean Americans, who are the indigenous people of this land.  The Marxists continue their terrorism of multiculturalism and Obama arms and prepares his minority led militias (like the Apache Brigades, Mohawk Warriors, the Army of Che, the Chinese Triads, the Black Panthers, and Hezbollah) to take over America and put the White Solutrean Americans in concentration camps (just like the Hindu Nazis did to the Jews).

The US has been supporting dozens of liberal democratic welfare states for decades -- including Haiti, Puerto Rico, Japan, Taiwan, Hawaii, and many more with free military defense.

This WOULD prove it's possible -- however, the US is a corporatist plutocracy, and not a free market economy. (That is, a slave state.)
