I live in an asian family, and we don't have any financial trouble. I do very good in school and always help my mom and dad around the house and even translate for them. The thing that really makes me angry is the fact that they never buy me anything, other than food and a roof over my head.

We have a really crappy FAMILY computer that can barely let me check my email and watch youtube. I asked for a new one and they said no.

I asked for a printer because we needed one for school and they said no, my only choice now is to ask my friends to print stuff out for me.

All they get for me on my birthday is a cake, i ask for a game for my 10 year old PS2 and they say no, i ask for a new console and they say no.

It's the exact same thing on Christmas, i don't get presents because my parents refuse to take them (why?) and i can't even spend my own money. I don't get an allowance, I get money by relatives traveling to California to visit us from China during the Spring Gala.

I have exactly 520$ IN CASH in red pockets, but my parents don't let me spend it!

The only way i can keep myself from depression is to secretly do offers for cash sites like Points2Shop and buy cheap games from Amazon. I also get my school supplies and clothes from doing these, and my parents don't even notice that i have new clothes and stuff, they think that it was gifts from my friends.

How do i convince my parents to give me some leisure and entertainment? I don't want to live like this when i don't have to.

What you should Do is Throw Everything away Like clothes, toy And ANYTHING that YOUR parents bought you. KEEP the stuff YOU bought for Yourself. After tell them that you only have little stuff and that you don't have enough clothes for the week or anything to entertain you. Then, your Parents will start buying you MORE stuff to keep you Happy.

Guud Luck!

'The only way I can keep myself from depression' Huh
I'm sorry, but you'd seriously get depressed just from not being able to buy things??
Life's not all about material possessions, there are more important things in this world, you know.
There are people who can't even afford to pay for a house or food or anything, and I bet they don't complain that much!!
I understand it may be frustrating, but there are other things much more important.
