So I know height is mainly based on genetics but other factors can probably contribute as well. What I'd like to know is how much they contribute. I'm currently 13 turning 14 in 3 and a half months and I'm 5'5. A year ago I was around 5'4.5, the year before that I was about 2 inches shorter and the year before that about 3-3.5 inches (all without shoes, lol). Basically, I didn't grow much taller this year so I'm about average height. I'd always wanted to be 5'8 and I thought I'd at least be 5'6 but now I'm not so sure. I'm confused as to whether I'd stunted my growth within the past year or if I just stopped growing. If it's the latter, I always thought that the process would be gradual. I didn't think I'd grow 2" and then just abruptly stop. With that being said, there are a multitude of things I've done that aren't really good for my health and well-being. For starters, I think with the type of food I ate I was/still am probably malnourished and dehydrated. I didn't eat as many fruits or vegetables as I normally did (I used to eat them a lot 2 years ago) and I doubt I got the right amount of vitamins I needed either. I guess I should change this diet of mine but I don't think this was the worst thing. I think my growth was primarily stunted due to lack of sleep (2-5 hours a day and 6 if I was lucky on weekdays for a little over a year; I plan on changing that, of course) and major stress (I cried just about everyday, too, if that matters). I think I'd like to believe that my growth was stunted because I don't want to face the fact that I've stopped growing (maybe). I guess it isn't the end of the world if I did but still... What do you guys think? And if my growth was stunted, does that mean I've lost a year's worth of growth or will I compensate for it another year?
Lol sorry if the questions sound stupid but I just want to know ^o^
@Mr. Real Epic: I was thinking that may be the case but that still doesn't answer my question :X
@Mist: My mom's 5'4 and my dad's around 5'10 so they're both about average... I'm already taller than my mom and there's no way in hell I'm going to be 5'10.
