Will they grow if I do about 30 push ups several times per day? I don't like torturing myself. So I'm not following any sort of a bodybuilding program. I do push ups now and then when I feel like it. About 150 per day. I don't mind having small muscles. I just want to be a bit stronger, so that I can do well in a fight or any other situation.

Yes, because you do push-ups. Do you think your muscles care about your intentions?

If you don't want to put forth the effort then don't bother.

Everyone wants the easy way out these days.

I hope you're fat and get diabetes and die.

Push ups just using your bodyweight will not make you grow bigger muscles. To build muscle your maximum rep range needs to be around 10 reps so if you can carry out 30 reps you are only training the endurance of the muscle.

As one of the guys said before this will work for toning your body.

One way to increase the benefits of push ups is to slow the reps down. As you lower your body to the floor take 3 secs, then take another 3 secs to raise back to the start position. This increases the time your muscles are under tension and will help you develop.

Doing them spread out during the day is stupid.
Do 3 or 4 sets of 30 within a 10 minute time frame (dunno how fit you are)
If you want big muscles wear a heavy backpack or make someone stand on your back, (once again, i dunno how fit you are)
In this case do about 6-10 reps for 3-4 sets.
Also, doing high intensity push ups every day is also stupid, you need to rest for at least a day.
