How Come the News Never Mentions if the Suspect is White?

I don't know about others' local news stations but you can always tell when the suspect is white because instead of saying a "white male" they'll say a 46 year old male instead but if he's black they always say a 46 year old black male. Why is that?

They usually mention that the low life criminal element is black because that is what they are most of the time.
