(of course its Friday in this part of the world)
(don't know the true source of this wisdom, he or she probably pickled)

A glass of wine

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine..
And those who don't and are always
seen with a bottle of water in their hand.

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink
1 litre of water each day,
At the end of the year we would have absorbed
More than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria
Found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo
of poop.

However,
We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer
(or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor)
Because alcohol has to go through a purification process
Of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
Than to drink water and be full of $hit..
In Chicago land usually not polite to start until lunch but you got to admire those who use that Vodka mouthwash to keep the bacteria away! lol  Wine to me, always tastes better after 4pm.  At least then I have a chance of killing that crappy water I had been drinking earlier!

As an answer, I own a vineyard and cellar door tasting for our wines. Why you may ask? I couldn't afford excellent wine on a teacher's wages. Teaching drives you to drink. Solution....well there you have it Neon, my dear fellow! Cheers....I clink my glass of Pinot Noir/Chardonnay Sparkling wine ( insert here, Champagne, but we cannot use this word!)  against your glass.
Ps it is also Friday here. Where are you?

Rationalizing or realization , yes I always enjoy a read from you, no matter which, LOL

My Dad drank wine with every evening meal.
In hospital near death's door,
A nurse popped in his room to ask if he needed water,
He said to me, "Water, water, they never ask you if you
want a good glass of wine."
Sooo, I got the okay from the doctor.
He smiled,
as I poured some in his glass
I had brought from his home
he took one small sip, and said,
"It burns my lips and throat"

So drink up while you can, salute!

Thank you for washing off past guilt with your liquor philosophy. And may I add, they use wine to treat wounds and cuts too. It is an effective pain killer both for body pains and pains of the heart and mind.  And an effective cliche for brotherhood and closed deals.
