Just as long as they're willingly submitting themselves to such laws, how can the government stop them?
Yes I'm aware that these laws are actually very much against our civil liberties, but being able to freely practice Sharia Law and Islam is also a civil liberty. Freedom of religion is right that the government cannot interfere with.
If people willingly submit themselves to these laws than the Constitution does not protect them, the Constitution only protects those who wish to omit themselves from these laws.
People supporting Mosque bans over fears of Sharia Law not only are Anti-1st Amendment but in supporting government regulation into religious affairs of Islam sets the precedent that the government can regulate Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, or whatever your faith is.
Allowing the government to intervene in one religion only opens the flood gates for the government to control more and more religious congregations. Free Candy and Let me have your money - Both of you are missing the point.
If these people want to submit themselves to these laws it's their right, and the Constitution does not protect them since they're willing to live by these laws.
The government can only get involved in religious affairs is when they are infringing on individual liberty of those who want no part of it.
They can have Sharia law if they want I do not care, it does not effect me and it only effects me if they force their opinions on me which then the Constitution would protect my civil liberties. Obozo - Of course not. Everyone has the right to life, not even religions have the right to take your life away in this country.
There are limits, killing someone is illegal unless it's self-defense, regardless of how you justify it.

Islam is extreme and unnecessary. We will not grant them any more 'rights' than what the common man has. Let them accept this country, or get the phuck out of here.

So you'll support their "religious freedom" when a female is stoned to death here in the US?

The same way they stop the rest of us. Religious freedom only goes so far. If it didn't I might start my own. Now THAT would be freedom! I can do anything I want if it's a part of my beliefs!

They can follow it privately, but they can't expect the government to follow them. Its like the laws of the Torah. The government can't keep Jews from eating pork, but they can agree to follow that law anyway.

because we are a sovereign nation. And just like any other Sovereign nation, we have a set of laws that everyone on that land has to follow. This has nothing to do with race, creed, or religion. this has everything to do with the law of the land.

The Fourteenth Amendment states that ALL Americans are subject to equal protection under the law. The US recognizes ONE set of laws for everyone, from which nobody is eligible to divorce himself. If one lives here, he is subject to US law, period. There are no asterisks affixed to that statement.

I am all for freedom of religion, but there's no such thing under Sharia Law. There is no freedom and there is no choice.
They should go to other countries to practice true Sharia Law. I can't imagine forcing American people into that kind of torture. We don't have it instituted and how many honor killings have we already seen in America?
No, you can see from history what happens as nations are overtaken with Sharia Law. It becomes convert or die and then, there's nothing left to convert to. No such events have taken place in recent years in any other faith you mentioned.

If they want to govern themselves under Sharia Law that is fine, unless it goes against the civil rights of a non-consenting citizen. In other words, they cannot enforce against non-Muslims or Muslims who no longer consent to Sharia Law.

No,can't create a sub culture that is opposite of ours.Would you deny them political office because if we didn't,they would change ours to theirs.Have to draw the line, either our culture and laws are supreme or theirs is.I prefer ours and if this sub culture wishes to live under sharia law, they can move to a country that allows it.
Will affect you if they change our system.Seems you haven't noticed they are trying to change other countries to their way.Try to pay attention.
