Why is it always Christians whining that they are being attacked? Even Republican presidential candidates are getting into the act.

Why isn't it always? Because many atheists dislike religion in general, not just christianity, although it just so happens to be the dominant cult in the west. I have a feeling you meant the opposite, but that's what bad grammar begets you and my answer stands either way.

I'm confused by your question...
Atheists aren't inherently against Christianity. It's usually only when someone tries to convert us that we object.
by not atheist do you mean anti-theist? Anti-theists are against religion

Because atheists disbelieve in ANY god, not only the Christian one. So naturally they're opposed to ALL religions, not only Christianity.

And what about the religious atheist? Just what side are they supposed to be on?

while you christians do have a persecution complex there is a truth in your words
we attack christianity because you're the biggest religion therefore a lot of atheist will have grown up around you shoving lies down our throats and threatening us with damnation, a lot of people don't like eternal damnation...
but we are against other religions as well.
