Question about creating restore disks?

I had to restore my laptop to factory condition. Along the way, I created restore disks. When I did that, it gave me the choice to select what I wanted to back up. I selected pics, music, etc. and one of the selections, I thought, was favorites in Internet Explorer. If I'm not remembering wrong, and I did save those favorites, how do I access them from the restore disks? There were 9 disks. When I just insert the 1st one in the computer, I just see a nuch of unfamiliar files. Would it have saved my favorites, and if so, how did I get them back on the computer?
